Case study
Jazz Funk Safari
Jazz Funk Safari had an upcoming date at Hideaway Jazz Club. Right at the last minute, for legal reasons, all their existing marketing material had to be scrapped (or they'd face copywrite fines). New artwork was required urgently.
The brief from the client was to emulate/replicate their original marketing material (due to time constraints) but ideally he preferred a Afro-futuristic desert look. I had only a few hours to create assets for Hideaway website, as well as all our social media channels.
I spent some time quickly researching Afro-futuristic artists and their album covers, and came up with an entirely new look. Out of my first few initial ideas, one was selected for me to develop and it was this route I eventually created assets for. Digital marketing went out that day (on their website, on Hideaway's website, via email newsletter and social media channels). Ultimately I ended up rehashing the designs for print too.
Xantoné Blaq loved the new collateral and it significantly increased the bands ticket sales. It also kickstarted their press buzz which lead to them garning more interest in their project, snowballing into radio plugs and write ups.
